Awkwafina

Awkwafina, an American singer and actress began by releasing witty raps which addressed sexuality and racial identification. Prior to her move to Hollywood she came out with an album of rap songs. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her very first musical encounter. She was a trumpeter. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. As a student, she majored in journalism and women's studies at college, even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a short time. Her focus was not in music until she finished her degree. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success over the Internet which led to her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also had popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or the winking city tour New York Bitche$. The latter was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. As a musician and an author on her resume she determined to pursue an actor for a third venture. Her film credits include films like Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of prominent films such as Dude ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
